This week we focused on Time Trialing, the session started, as always, with a warm up of a few laps. Then we put on numbered bibs, I was Green 3, and we set off at 15 second intervals for a 3 lap time trial. I planned to save myself for the final race so I didn't give 100% in this first event. Lap 1 was 1:51 and I iemmediately saw the rider ahead of me, but i tried not to let this affect my effort. Lap 2 was 1:58. Lap 3 was 1:56 and I overtook 2 people at the same time on this lap, i did not give a great effort on the final straight but my total time was 3:46, putting me in the top 5 of our group and in the best team time trial group. For the rest of the session we practiced through and off in our teams, then despite the fact it was still damp we moved onto the short circuit. 90% of all of my rides on this circuit have ended with someone breaking something, so you might see how I lack confidence in the corners, but unfortunately my safe cornering was incredibly slow and I was having to accelerate to get back on, I also occasionally messed up the lines trying to find balance on the inverse camber. I decided to sit out rather than ruin the other four's training. I did participate in the final "race" time trial. Early on, the rider in front of me got cramp and pulled off and stopped leaving a huge gap between me and the leading rider, a gap which I began to cover but the other riders behind me called for him to wait. During the final lap, one other rider called for the pace to slow as he was struugling, I admit that I was too, but the remaining 4 of us manage to cross the line together, ending a great session that improved my overall pace and highlighted something I need to work on, my confidence, speed and bike handling in the corners.
when i got home did a practice sprint of 27mph
