Race 24 MK Bowl MKCA Handicap

One of two 4th cats lining up, I only took the start because for certain reasons I could not attend any race at the weekend.

We were given a 3 lap lead and as we set off almost directly behind the 3rd cats I tried to catch them before the could gain a lap on us, but I wasn't willing to give too much energy to something that may or may not ahve worked so we relaxed and tried to set a decent tempo.

The E/1/2 group caught us first and I tried to latch on in technical section, but couldn't make the constant accelerations I needed to keep up, i manged to stay with the 3rd cats for a while when they came round though.

In quick summary: Stayed with E/1/2 group for half a lap the first time, 1 lap the second time and 1 and a half laps the third time. Stayed with the 3rd cat group for 5 laps the first time and longer the second time. I lead the race for 33 minutes out of 45 and placed an insignificant 21st.

The commissaires expressed that they felt I had done very well considering the fact I was alone for most of the race and my age.

Worked on cornering and spent some time at a higher category pace.
